poem

lying in wait

didn't take much to catch me

you were my prey

it was meant to be

i swallowed you

tasting your poison

you took control

and from there
everything changed

my words
my thoughts
my existence

all under your influence
always

will you let me go?

is it too late?

was it even you?

about

The distortion of the figure in the visual is meant to be unsettling, unhuman; it's meant to make the figure some foreign creature.

The premise behind this poem is largely contradictory. Though as is typical in the writer's songwriting and poetry, there are intracicies almost impossible to discern without being involved in the experience in the story.

Who is the predator?

Who is the prey?

Who is the parasite?
