it’s just a bad dream

Released: February 21, 2024

poem

with nothing left
i held onto all that remained
burying the memory of her touch beneath my skin
and as suddenly as before
she appeared
without warning,
she placed my hands upon her skin
and soon i surrendered unto her desire
once more, for the final time
i was complete.

she pulled me into her heaven
and led me to sin
when she pulled away
she reclaimed what was rightfully hers
and as she did,
she stripped me of my skin
and i was left to die.

when i awoke,
my eyes met hers
and with my heart in her hands
her nails pierced deep within
and i watched as it shattered in her fists

i remained there
in pieces

with nothing left

but the memory

of her.

about

it's just a bad dream is a dramatized reconstruction of an actual event and is the following visualization:

In a void of white space, there is a man, kneeling. Broken. Alone.

Suddenly, a woman appeared before him. And before the man could stop anything, she placed her hands on him. He gave into the temptation. The sexual gratification was more than worth it—at least for the time being.

He understood the reality. She returned to use him one last time. After using him, she pulls away, and in doing so, tears his skin from his body.

He doesn't remember what happens in between then and now as he awakes.

He looks up, meeting her gaze. He sees his heart being held in her hands.

He cannot move as he witnesses her begin to pierce her long, devilish nails within.

And as it's bleeding, she clenches her fists and crushes his heart.

She leaves. He's left alone again, just as before, although now used, tainted, and destroyed. Left again with her memory. Now with a fresh wound.

This poem's true meaning is a story of sexual persuasion.

The way the visual "blinks" between every repetition is a reminder that this did occur. That it was real. It wasn't just a bad dream.

The story herein is later retold and recontextualized in be still. and TEETH.

I forgive you. Do you still remember?
