The writer feels as though he has to pretend to be okay and wonders what makes him so different. Why can't he be normal? Why can't he be fine? Why is he the way he is?

Additionally, as the title suggests, the writer acknowledges all this time passing and in an effort to have control for once, he calls it "the meantime" as if it was agreed upon.
